Display Mode: Choose from one of the following:
(1) Recording Time: shows the time the recording was made
(2) Recorded Date: shows the Y/M/D the recording was made
(3) Remaining Time:
DPC: sets the Digital Pitch Control in a percentage value range of +100% or
-50% in increments of 10%. In the plus (+) range the playback is faster
Easy Search: when ON enables the playback to advance or rewind in
increments each time you press the jog dial control.
Folder Names: (ICD-MS515 only) enables the recorder to have specific
names for each folder. These folder names are part of the
dictation file name when the recording is transferred to the PC
LED: ON or OFF
Microphone Sensitivity: High, Medium or Low
Rec-Operation: Overwrite or Add Recording
Recording Mode: ST, SP, LP
VOR (Voice Operated Recording): in the ON position the recorder will start and
stop when the user is speaking and stops during pauses saving recording
time. It is not recommended to use this feature in conference or
lecture recording because there is usually a lot of noise taking
place in the room and the recorder would not shut off.
Note: not all functions may be available on your recorder.
SECTION P: Software Upgrades and Downloads
Sony makes it easy to get software upgrades by using the internet and accessing
www.sonystyle.com. At the top of the screen is a section titled "Product Service
Support". Click on this and then follow the steps below:
?? In the Section Service and Support click on the Launch Service box
?? Click on Electronics
?? Click on Portable Audio / Digital Voice Recorder
This will reveal a page with Software for the ICD Digital Voice Recorders.
In Play: shows the remaining recording time of the dictation
you are listening to.
In Record: shows the remaining recording time on the unit
and in the (-) range the playback is slower.
Advance Forward: 10 seconds
Rewind: 3 seconds
