9 Preparations for transportation to site

9.1 General

Overview
The tap-changer can be transported with the transformer as a single unit.
If the transformer is transported filled with transformer oil, then the tap-changer must also be filled.
Remove as few parts as necessary.
Procedure
1.
Record all removed parts, and all installed parts in this procedure. This is important for correct
installation at site.
2.
Mark each part that is removed from the tap-changer.
3.
If parts are removed, install transport covers over all openings.
4.
Keep the motor-drive mechanism dry to prevent corrosion:
Put drying agent in the cabinet.
Seal the vents.
If electrical power is available, connect the heater.

9.2 Transportation with transformer oil in the transformer

Overview
The tap-changer can be transported with the transformer as a single unit.
It is not necessary to drain the transformer oil from the tap-changer.
Procedure, with the oil conservator installed
1.
Make sure that tap-changer is filled with transformer oil to the operating level.
