    . What is blood pressure ? Blood pressure is a measurement of the force of blood flowing against the walls of the arteries. Arterial blood pressure is constantly changing during the course of the cardiac cycle. The highest pressure in the cycle is called the systolic blood pressure, the lowest is the diastolic blood pressure.

Important information before use of the device * Do not use this manual and product as a substitute for advice, diagnosing or treating a health problem or prescribing any medication by your doctor. * The device is not suitable for clinical use. * This monitor is not intended for use in the MR environment.
  • Page 10 Do not vibrate the unit during measurement, or the proper measurement will not be achieved. Perform measurement quietly in a relaxed position. Do not wind the cuff over jacket or sweater sleeve, or measurement cannot be done. Keep in mind, that blood pressure naturally varies from time to time throughout the day and also is affected by lots of different factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, medication and physical activity.
  • Page 11 For those who have had mastectomy surgery (especially whose’ lymph nodes removed), it’s recommend take a measurement on the unaffected side. When used among medical electronic equipments on the same limb, pressurization of the cuff may cause temporarily malfunction to other devices. *Note! 1.

    . Changing batteries Remove the battery cover at the left side of the unit and insert batteries into the battery compartment in accordance with ribbon strip as shown, taking extreme care that the polarities + and - are observed. Important notice: to take the batteries out easily, just pull the ribbon strip for help.

    . Correct measurement position It is extremely important for the measured values, that the cuff is at the same height of the heart. Higher or deeper position will give deviations from the true value. Measurement while sitting down: a. Sit down comfortably with your feet flat on the floor.

If blood pressure tends to be on the high level, the air pressure will automatically increase to the required level for measurement. *Note! Do not inflate the cuff until it is wrapped around your wrist. * Do not move or talk in the midst of taking blood pressure measurement.

    b. Recalling data: (1). Press " M " button. If there is no data in the memory, only TIME /DATE will appear on the display. If yes, the first reading will be the average of the latest 3 measurements. (The average value dose not appear if there are two or fewer measurements stored in memory.) (2).

    .MAINTENANCE: Use a piece of cloth with water or mild cleansing agent to wipe the device and dry it immediately with a dry cloth. Do not use detergent or any strong chemicals to clean the device. Disinfection - Use a piece of cloth with a dilution of neutral detergent or soapsuds to wipe the surface of the cuff for 10 seconds.

    .SAFE-KEEPING: Always keep the device in the carrying case after its use. Do not put the item directly under the sunlight, in high temperature, or humid and dusty places. Do not store the device in extremely low (less than –13 °F/ –25 °C) and high (more than 158 °F/ 70 °C) temperature, nor in a place its humidity exceeds 93% R.H.

    .WARNING: The device measures the blood pressure of adult only. In the event of the cuff pumping up and not stopping, please open the cuff at once. To ensure precise measurement reading, recalibration of the device is recommended after 2 years from the date of purchase.

    . ¿Qué es la presión arterial? La presión arterial es una medida de la fuerza que ejerce la sangre sobre las paredes de las arterias cuando circula por el cuerpo. La presión de sangre arterial cambia en forma constante durante el curso del ciclo cardíaco. La presión más alta en el ciclo es conocida como presión sistólica mientras la más baja es la diastólica.
