Cleaning by hand
When cleaning by hand, first thoroughly soak the grease filters in hot soapy water, then thoroughly brush off and
most importantly rinse off with clear water. Then allow to drip dry. Do not use aggressive acidic or alkaline cleaning
agents. Use commercially available degreaser sprays to loosen tough grease buildup. The extractor hood needs to
be disconnected from power by pulling the power plug or by disabling the breaker prior to installing and remo-
ving the grease filters.

ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER FOR RECIRCULATING AIR MODE

Activated carbon filters trap odors during recirculating air mode. During normal operation (1 to 2 hours daily),
the activated carbon filters need to replaced approximately twice annually. Matching activated carbon filters are
available on demand in the online shop (see special accessories). Only use original filters. Activated carbon filters
do not contain hazardous materials. They can be disposed in the household waste.

Installing and removing the activated carbon filter

All hoods from the KF series need 2 activated carbon filters. These are screw-mounted in the interior of the hood
on both sides of the blower in front of the intake openings. Proceed as follows to install the activated carbon filters:
1. Start by opening the large front hatch to gain access to the metal filter
2. Then remove the metal grease filter(s)
3. Position the activated carbon filter on both sides of the blower in front of the intake openings
4. The center of the filters has an alignment and a matching insert is on the blower
5. When the filter is seated correctly it can be secured with a small twisting motion
6. You can now reposition the grease filters (see metal grease filters)

CONDENSATE COLLECTION TRAY

Position the included collection tray directly under the
opening in the blower. The tray is simply pushed into
the two small rails. Condensate that forms over time
in the blower can drain through the opening and is
collected in the tray, allowing it to be disposed of
and cleaned with ease..

Charcoal filters are only used with recirculating
