Introduction

These instructions explain how to replace the bezel in the PC9 Industrial
PC or P9 PowerStation. The bezel is the front part of the unit that encloses
the display screen. This documentation includes instructions for replacing
touchscreen and non-touchscreen bezels. The instructions explain how to
disassemble the unit, remove the old bezel, install a new bezel, and reas-
semble the unit.

Disassembling the Unit

To disassemble the unit, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the unit.
2. Disconnect the unit from the power source.
3. Disconnect all cables attached to the unit.
4. Remove the unit from its enclosure, and place it on a static dissi-
pative mat in a location free from dirt and moisture and protected
against static discharge.
CTC Parker Automation
For safety reasons, the unit should be opened only by qualified
service personnel.
Be sure to observe electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions
while working inside the unit.

• P9/PC9 Non-touchscreen Bezel Kit for use with 12" display
units (BZK-1200)
• P9/PC9 Non-touchscreen Bezel Kit for use with 15" display
units (BZK-1500)
• P9/PC9 Touchscreen Bezel Kit for use with 12" display
units (BZK-1201)
• P9/PC9 Touchscreen Bezel Kit for use with 15" display
units (BZK-1501)
Phillips-head screwdriver

  • Page 2 PC9/P9 Bezel Replacement 5. Remove the two screws securing the backshell to the faceplate as- sembly, as shown below. Remove these screws 6. Swing the backshell away from the faceplate. 7. Detach the three cables connecting the faceplate assembly and backshell.

    PC9/P9 Bezel Replacement b. If your system has a touchscreen, detach the touchscreen cable from its extender in the maintenance compartment. c. Detach the backlight cable from its connection on the monitor card (press down on the small tab on the lower half of the connector, and pull the cable out).
  • Page 4 PC9/P9 Bezel Replacement 3. Replace the old bezel with the new one. Important Make sure that the new display screen does not get scratched during this assembly. Also, make sure that the display is free of dust or lint before reassembling the unit.
