SAFETY SIGNS

3.1
REPLACING DAMAGED SAFETY
SIGNS
• Keep safety signs clean and legible at all times.
• Replace safety signs that are missing or have
become illegible.
• Parts that were replaced with a safety decal on
them must also have the safety sign replaced.
• Replacement safety signs are available from your
authorized Distributor, Dealer Parts Department, or
Wallenstein Equipment.

SAFETY SIGN EXPLANATIONS:

Caution: read and understand ALL safety
and operating instructions in the manual,
read and understand ALL safety decals
located on the machine. The most important
safety device on this equipment is an in-
formed SAFE operator.
Caution: be aware of collision hazard of an
unsecured boom. Install main boom and boom
swivel lock pin to prevent injury from potential
movement of the boom during transport.

Caution: be aware of collision / pinch haz-
ards from moving parts: boom, grapple, and
stabilizers.

Caution: Be aware of and keep 15 meters
(50 ft) or more away from overhead electrical
cables. Serious injury or death from electro-
cution could occur. Electrocution is possible
with out direct contact (arcing).

Procedure
1. Be sure that the installation area is clean and dry.
2. Be sure temperature is above 50 °F (10 °C).
3. Determine exact position before removing from the
backing paper.
4. Pull the decal off the backing sheet, align the sign
over the specified area, then carefully press the
exposed sticky backing in place.
5. Use a piece of the backing paper to smooth the
decal out, pressing from the center outwards.
6. Small air pockets can be pierced with a pin and
smoothed out using the piece of sign backing
paper.
Caution: Hydraulic fluid under pressure, do
not check for leaks with you hand or fingers
when the system is pressurized. Serious
injury will result. Concealed hydraulic con-
nection: use caution when removing panels
or guards.
Caution: be aware of buried utilities (cable,
pipes, electrical conduit) damage to the
backhoe or injury could result

repairs, ensure backhoe is in transport mode
and boom pins are in place, or bucket is rest-
ing on the ground

Caution: Personal Protection Equipment
(PPE) is required when operating this ma-
chine. Failure to wear PPE will result in
personal injury
Warning! Risk of crushing
injury or death. Do not operate
the backhoe without the toplink
installed. Digging forces can thrust
backhoe upward, forward, or
rearward.
