Need help?
Do you have a question about the C253 and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
Have a Chamberlin C253 opener that i'm trying to install a wall control button for. The manual shows it can be wired with a normal doorbell button which I tried first, doesnt work. Next purchased a Liftmaster 78LM wall control, doesnt work. Hand held remotes work fine. Wiring is good. When I pushed both buttons when wired, only thing that happens is yellow light on opener lights up, nothing else,
If the remotes work but the wall control buttons do not on a Chamberlain C253 opener, the issue could be with the wall console itself, the wiring, or the control board. To identify the cause:
1. Disconnect the wall control wires from the button and leave it unwired for the time it usually takes for a phantom operation.
- If the door does not operate, replace the wall console.
- If it still operates, disconnect the wires from the opener terminals.
- If it stops, replace the wiring.
- If it continues, the control board may need replacement.
