Withthegravitycastingprocessthealuminumalloyisembeddedintoaprefabricatedmouldof
steelandsandusinggravity.Theresultisacylinderheadmadefromaluminumgravitydiecasting
AlSi7MgCu0.5T5.
ThecylinderheadoftheB58TUengineinthemediumpowerlevelisanewdesign.Theexhaust
manifoldwasintegratedinthehousingofthecylinderhead.Dependingontheengineoutput,the
engineweight,theoperatingstrategyoftheengineandthecoolingsurfaces,theexhaustmanifold
isintegratedinthecylinderheadhousingandtheexhaustturbochargerisinterlockedatthecylinder
head.
Owingtothehighermechanicalandthermalloads,gasolineenginesintheupperpowerlevelsand
higherhaveatraditionalcylinderheadwithouttheexhaustmanifoldintegratedinthecylinderhead.
