Overview

The following instructions are important to start Normal operation on your Humminbird® control head for on-the-water use. Use these instructions if
you've purchased an accessory transducer, and
• the accessory transducer does not include temperature, and
• the accessory transducer is connected directly to a HELIX® Series control head.
NOTE: If there is also a primary transducer with temperature attached to the control head (with a Y-Cable), or a temperature accessory is attached, then please
disregard these instructions.

Instructions

Use the following instructions to set up an accessory transducer the first time the control head is powered on. Once the transducer is set up in the
system, you will only have to repeat these instructions if you restore the control head defaults or update the software.

Start-Up Notice!
(Model Series: HELIX ® )
1. Install the transducer and connect it to the control head. See the installation guide for details.
2. Press the POWER key. When the Title screen is displayed, press the MENU key.
NOTE: If you wait too long to select a Start-Up Option, the system will start Demonstration ("demo")
mode. Demonstration mode cannot be used for operation. If this happens, power off the unit and start over.
3. Start-Up Options Menu: Press the UP or DOWN Cursor key to choose Simulator, and press the
RIGHT Cursor key to select it. Follow the on-screen instructions.
4. When the first view displays on the screen, press the MENU key twice to open the Main Menu.
5. Press the RIGHT Cursor key until the Setup tab is selected. Press the DOWN Cursor key to select
Demonstration.
6. Press the LEFT Cursor key to select Off.
7. Press the EXIT key once.
8. Press the LEFT Cursor key until the Sonar tab is selected. Press the DOWN Cursor key to select
Connected Transducer.
9. Press the LEFT or RIGHT Cursor keys to select the transducer that is attached to the control
head. See the transducer packaging for the description.
10. Press the EXIT key twice to close the menu system.
11. Press and hold the POWER key. The control head will power off and save your settings.
To use the control head on the water, press the
enter Normal mode automatically, or you can select Normal from the Start-Up Options Menu.
