802BT HDMI Video Test Generator Users Guide (Rev A)
To encode an external audio source with the HDMI output:
1. Use the RCA-to-VGA cable (provided with generator) to connect the external audio
source to the AV connector on the generator.
The AV interface is a modified VGA connector, which uses pins 6 and 11 for SP/DIF
input.
2. Establish a command terminal connection with the generator, using HyperTerminal or
VGM.
3. At the R:> prompt, enter SDMG 2 to configure the generator to accept an external audio
source.
4. (Optional) Use the ARAT command (page x) to set the sample frequency to match the
frequency of the source. The default frequency is 48 KHz, which is used by DVD
players.
5. Turn on the audio source.
Currently, the generator cannot independently control channels from external sources.
You must use the device generating the audio signal to control the channels.
6. Load any image and an appropriate video format.
