Set up and align the instrument in
the middle between two fixed level-
ling staff positions A and B approx.
30 m apart.
Read off the value a
ling staff A and the value b
levelling staff B. Calculate the height
difference (a - b

of approx. 2 m away from staff A
and read the value a
Now direct the levelling instrument
at levelling staff B. Read the value b
and calculate the height difference,
which is (a - b ).

The adjustment of the level is correct
when you get the reading (a
of the height differences achieved with the first and the second measurement
are equal, and the instrument operates error-free.
Adjustment will be required if the height differences are not the same.

1. Use a soft cloth to clean instrument from dust and dirt.
2. Carefully clean lens and ocular with a soft and clean cloth, cotton or
a soft brush, use no liquids other than pure alcohol. Do not touch any
surfaces of the lenses.
3. In wet weather conditions, initially dry the case and instrument by wiping
them down and then allow to dry out with the case open at the place
of storage.
4. For carrying the instrument over long distances, it is best to place it
in its container. Attention: Levelling screws to be turned all the way in.
