5.1 Cleaning
5.1.1 BEA 040
If soiled, clean the housing with a mild cleaning agent.
5.1.2 Combi sensor

To guard against destruction of the sealing dia-
phragm and the microphone, never use a pointed
object to clean the sound inlets or direct a jet of
compressed air right into the sound inlets.
To ensure proper recording of the structure-borne
sound signal, there must be neither swarf nor dirt on
the magnetic base. The magnetic base can be cleaned
using a mild cleaning agent.
The microphone openings for air-borne sound record-
ing (Fig. 2, item 1) must never be obstructed. Passing a
gentle flow of compressed air over the sensor surface
is a suitable means of extracting dirt from the sound
inlets.
