Faults

The BEA 040 features a "Power-on self-test func-
tion". The functions of the BEA 040 are checked on
application of the operating voltage via the power
supply unit. If the status LED (Fig. 1, item 1) lights
(red) after 2 seconds, the power supply is OK and
the "Power-on self-test" has been successfully com-
pleted. Any faults in the BEA 040 are indicated by
intermittent red flashing of the status LED.

In the event of speed measurement problems with
the BEA 040 on a vehicle or motorcycle, connect the
BEA 040 to a different vehicle/motorcycle to check
its operation.

Check correct configuration of the MTM device type
in the CDC if there is no speed display.
