Solution
Retune the MW or FM
broadcast station.
Extend FM aerial
Rotate unit until best
reception is obtained.
Select RADIO function switch.
Increase volume.
Select TAPE function switch.
Increase volume.
Clean the head.
Replace the cassette tape.
Clean roller and capstan.
