Turn dial ❷ to adjust the presser foot pressure of presser
foot (asm.) ❶ in the direction of arrow mark A at the time
of sewing. (Adjusting value at the time of delivery : shaft
protruding amount : 2.5 to 3.5 mm)
Tightening dial ❷ clockwise increases the presser foot

pressure.
Tightening dial ❷ counterclockwise decreases the
•
presser foot pressure.
＊ When the presser foot pressure is excessively high,
the feed force will deteriorate. When the presser foot
pressure is excessively low, sewing performance will
be not stabilized.
Set the protruding amount of 3 mm as the standard
and perform fine adjustment within the range where
sewing performance or feed force is not affected.
＊ After adjusting dial ❷ , turn dial ❸ with dial ❷ fixed
and fix the presser foot.
Adjust the height B of the presser foot (asm.) when the
presser foot goes up by loosening setscrew ❸ and chang-
ing position C of hand lifter base ❹ in the vertical direc-
tion.
(Adjusting value at the time of delivery : 12.5 mm)
Lifting the fixing position of hand lifter base ❹ increas-

Lowering the fixing position of hand lifter base ❹ de-

creases height B of the presser foot.
＊ The top end of the needle protrudes from the bottom
surface of the presser foot even when the presser foot
is lifted when the sewing machine stops at UP position
in the case where the height of the presser foot is more
than 12.5 mm. As a result, cloth may be damaged by
the top end of the needle.
When the height of the presser foot is 12.5 mm or
less, cloth comes in contact with the presser foot when
placing it on the sewing machine or removing it from
the sewing machine at the time of sewing. As a result,
operating efficiency will deteriorate.
＊ Adjust the height of hand lifter base ❹ so that the
height of the presser foot should be within the range
of 12 to 14 mm. After the completion of adjustment,
securely tighten setscrew ❸ . (Tightening torque : 1.5
to 2.5 N·m)
