Time-out Timer
The Time-out Timer feature helps extend battery life by
preventing the radio from accidentally transmitting. The
radio will emit a continuous warning tone after M is
pressed for 60 continuous seconds and will stop
transmitting.
Keypad Lock
The keypad lock disables accidental short presses of
the keypad buttons, but allows use of the Mand
unlocking with the
\
button.
1.To lock the keypad press the
button 5 times until
\
the
f
and < symbol appear in the display.
2.Press ] or [ and the < symbol changes to the
current channel and code settings. The radio is then
locked and
f
will show in the display.
3.To unlock radio press and hold
for 3 seconds.

ALERTS
Call Tone
Your radio can transmit different call tones to other
radios by pressing the
button before transmitting,
^
alerting users on the same channel and code that you
are about to talk. Your radio has 5 call tones to choose
from. Setting the call tone to 0 disables
^.
1.To set your call tone press
3 times until

displayed.
2.Press ] and [ to change and hear call tones while
the setting number is flashing.
3.Press M to set new call tone.
Talk Confirmation Tone
When you turn on this feature, your two-way radio
transmits a chirp when you finish transmitting and
release the M. It's like saying 'Roger' or 'Over', and
lets others know you've finished talking.
1.To enable or disable this tone, press and hold ] as
you turn your radio on.
2.When enabled you will hear the talk confirmation
tone when you release the M button.
