PROBLEM / MALFUNCTION
The coffee is not creamy.
The coffee grinder makes a
strange noise.
No steam comes out of the nozzle.
There is not enough milk froth.
The milk froth is not fine enough.

PROBABLE CAUSES
The machine may need to run a
n
cleaning cycle.
The coffee is not fresh enough.
n
Foreign objects are inside the
n
grinder.
The nozzle or the nozzle support is
n
blocked.
The water used is not suitable for
n
making steam.
The steam does not come out
n
properly.
The milk is not cold enough.
n
The steam does not come out
n
properly.
The milk is not suitable.
n
CORRECTIVE ACTIONS
Start a cleaning of the machine
n
(see section 8).
Try using fresher coffee beans /
n
grounds.
Check whether you can extract the
n
foreign object using a tool. Unplug
the machine before you do this.
Contact the KRUPS Customer
n
Service.
Wash the steam nozzle manually
n
(see section 8); clean and unblock
each part.
Check that the steam nozzle is
n
screwed on properly.
Empty the tank and remove the
n
Claris cartridge temporarily.
Fill the water tank with mineral
n
water with high calcium content
(>100 mg/l) and carry out steam
cycles (5 to 10) consecutively into
a container until you get a
continuous flow of steam.

We recommend that you use cold
n
pasteurised or UHT milk, freshly
opened.
Check that the milk is fresh and
n
cold.
Check that there is enough milk in
n
the glass.
Wash the steam nozzle manually
n
(see section 8); clean and unblock
each part.
Check that the steam nozzle is
n
screwed on properly.
We recommend that you use cold
n
pasteurised or UHT milk, freshly
opened.
