TROUBLESHOOTING

n
If your machine is not operating correctly, try to resolve it by referring to this troubleshooting guide.
If the problem persists in spite of this, contact our helpline (See details at end).
PROBLEM / MALFUNCTION
The machine displays a failure,
the software malfunctions or
your machine has a malfunction.
The appliance does not switch
on when the ON/OFF button is
pressed.
You used pre-ground coffee and
the machine does not make
coffee.
The espresso or coffee is not hot
enough.
The coffee is too lightly colored
or too weak.
The coffee dispenses too slowly.
PROBABLE CAUSES
Software problem.

Power failure or blown fuse.
n
The plug is not pushed into the
n
outlet correctly or into the
machine or the outlet is faulty.
The appliance is faulty.
n
You have poured too much
n
pre-ground
coffee
pre-ground coffee is too fine.
The temperature of the coffee is
n
not set high enough.
The coffee cup is cold.
n
There is not enough coffee in the
n
coffee bean container.
Too much coffee is prepared.
n
The filter cartridge is clogged.
n
The machine may need
n
cleaning/descaling.
CORRECTIVE ACTIONS
Turn off and unplug the machine.

Remove the filter cartridge. Wait
for 20 seconds and restart the
machine.
If the failure persists, write down
n
the message on the screen and
call the KRUPS customer service.
Check the fuses of your electrical
n
installation.
Check that the plug is correctly
n
inserted into the socket or have
the socket repaired.
Have the appliance checked by a
n
qualified technician.
Use a mixture for espresso coffee
n
or
the
machines.
Check the coffee temperature in
n
the "Settings" menu.
Program your recipe using the
n
"Favorites" function by increasing
the temperature.
Warm the cup by rinsing it with
n
hot water before starting the
preparation.
Check that coffee is present in
n
the container and that nothing is
obstructing the sensor (coffee
bean blocking in the front, etc.).
Reduce the quantity of water in
n
the coffee.
Start a cleaning of the machine.

Remove/replace
