7.2 Cutterblock guard adjustment

The cutterblock guard must be set
against the fence and down to the
table, as much as is possible by the
individual machining operation (see Fig
6, 7, 8).
Losen the lock knob (W, Fig 12) to
adjust the cutterblock guard (D)
against the fence (B).
Rotate the knob (X) to adjust the
cutterblock guard up and down.

7.3 Fence lateral adjustment

Move the fence assembly periodically
to different positions to distribute wear
on the cutterhead knives.
Loosen the locking handles (Y, Fig 12)
to adjust.
Readjust the cutterblock guard.
7.4 Fence tilting
The fence can be tilted up to 45
degrees backwards.
Loosen the locking knobs (Z, Fig 12) to
adjust.
Readjust the cutterblock guard.
8. Maintenance and inspection
General note:
Maintenance, cleaning and repair work
may only be carried out after the
machine is protected against
accidental starting.
Push the E-stop button
Pull the mains plug!
Clean the machine regularly
Inspect the proper function of the dust
extraction daily.
Defective cutting knives must be
replaced immediately.
Before starting any work, check the
mobility of the anti-kickback fingers
(must fall down by their own weight).
Defective safety devices must be
replaced immediately.
All protective and safety devices must
be re-attached immediately after
completed cleaning, maintenance and
inspection work.
Repair and maintenance work on the
electrical system may only be carried
out by a qualified electrician.
Drive Belt:
The belt tension must be inspected
regularly.
Remove the fence (A, Fig 13) and the
pulley cover (B).
Under finger pressure, the drive belt
(E) must give approximately 10mm.

To tighten the belt, remove the lower
pulley cover (C, Fig 14), loosen the 4
nuts (D) and lower the motor.
The motor weight gives enough belt
tension.

Reattach all parts.
Belt changing:
For belt changing, rise the motor and
slide it to the side.
The belts (E, F) can now be removed.
Motor Break (JPT-410):
The motor break works electro-
mechanically (break motor).
If breaking time should exceed 10
seconds, the motor break assembly
needs to be replaced. Contact your Jet
service station immediately.
Thickness Table Parallelism:
The thickness table is factory adjusted
parallel to the cutterhead.
Disconnect machine from power
source to inspect.
Use a gauge block (B) and gently rise
the table (C) to inspect (Fig 15).
