 Locate the hole spacing (if holes are
already available) or drill the necessary
holes (Fig. 2).
Slot spacing 50 – 87 mm

 Fix the mounting flange (Pos.7, Fig. 3)
to the frame (Pos.10, Fig. 3) with two
bolts (Pos.6, Fig. 3; M 12 - 8.8) and
washers (12.5 - ISO 7090) (Ma = 60 +5
Nm).
In the case of vehicles subject to
high vibration loads, fix the flange
additionally at the bottom with 2
bolts (M10-8.8) and washers (10.5-
ISO 7090) (Ma=40 +5 Nm).
 Remove the covering caps from the inlet
(Pos. 1, Fig. 3) and outlet (Pos. 3, Fig.
3).
The outlet can also be connected at
Pos. 9. To do this, unscrew the a/f
17 sealing plugs from Pos. 9 and
screw them in the outlet Pos.3 (Ma
= 23 ± 3 Nm).
 Disconnect the fuel line and mount the
threaded connections.
 Connect the fuel lines (Pos.2 and 4, Fig.
3) at inlet (Pos.1, Fig. 3, thread M18 x
1.5) and outlet (Pos. 3 or 9, Fig. 3,
thread M18 x 1.5).
MANN-FILTER
 Ensure that the water drain plug is
closed (also refer to Fig. 3).
 Check that the filter and water collecting
tank are tightly sealed.
 Check that the entire filter is firmly fixed
(low-vibration).
 Connect the heater (option).
Pay attention to the instructions
enclosed in the heater packaging
with regard to the heater
installation.
 Screw the bleed plug a/f 12 (Pos.5, Fig.
3) open.
 Operate the hand pump (Pos. 8, Fig. 3)
to draw fuel.
 Continue to pump until no more air
escapes from the bleed plug.
 Screw the bleed plug shut
(Ma = 6 ±1 Nm).
In the case of versions without a
hand pump, vent the system
according to the vehicle
manufacturer's instructions.
 Start the engine.
 Check the sealing quality.
