4. Turn the key to the START position.
5. When the engine starts, release the key.
6. The key will return to the ON position and the engine will
continue to run.
7. To stop the engine, rotate the key counterclockwise to
the OFF position.
8. To place the ignition switch in ACC (Accessory) position,
rotate key counterclockwise to the ACC position.
Accessory features can now be used without engine
operation.
9. To terminate ACC (Accessory) operation, rotate the key
clockwise to the OFF position.

After the Engine Starts

NOTE: For additional information, see Engine Operation
and Maintenance Manual.
Do not increase engine speed until the oil pressure gauge
indicates normal pressure.
Make sure the engine oil pressure is indicated on the
gauge within 20 seconds after starting.
Operate the engine for 3 - 5 minutes before operating at
full power.
Try to limit engine idle to 10 minutes. Excessive idling
reduces fuel economy and may decrease oil life.
When starting a cold engine, increase the engine speed
(RPM) slowly to make sure adequate lubrication is
available to the bearings.
