10. CLEANING AND CARE

10.1 General

Pull the power plug from the wall outlet before cleaning.
Clean the exterior with a lightly damp cloth.
Do not use petrol, alcohol or other abrasive cleansers to clean the exterior.

10.2 Handling CDs

Although the quality of the compact disc is not affected by a little dust or small scratches,
you should care for them.
Protect the compact disc from dust or scratches.
Always store the compact disc in the disc case when not in use.
To maintain the original sound quality, occasionally wipe off the compact disc with a soft
cloth, from the centre to the outer edge (not in a circular motion). Do not use petrol or other
solvents for cleaning.
Touch the compact disc on the edges only!

10.3 Audio Compact Discs

Only use compact discs with the logo shown below.
Possible cause
Malfunction due to electrostatic
discharge.
Volume is set too low.
Volume is muted.
When using the connection
through the 3.5 mm
AUDIO IN socket: settings
at the source device are not
correct.
Inserted CD is dirty or
scratched.
3.5 mm audio cable is not
inserted correctly.
FM antenna is not unrolled.
Battery empty or not correctly
inserted.
Distance between appliance
and remote control is too big.
Solution
Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
Connect the power plug again to an electrical outlet.
Increase the volume level.
Press MUTE to resume the sound.
Ensure that the external source has correct volume
settings and is playing a track.
Clean the disc with a soft cloth or insert another CD.
Ensure that the connecting 3.5 mm audio cable is
correctly plugged in on both devices and plugs are
fully inserted.
Unroll the FM antenna for best reception.
Check if the battery is correctly inserted. Replace
the battery if necessary.
Reduce the distance between the remote control
and the appliance and make sure there are no
obstacles between them.
Aim the remote directly at the appliance.
