TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem
Appliance does not
work.
Bad FM reception.
Jumping of tracks
during playback.
No sound or bad
sound.
Appliance does not
react to pressed
buttons/keys.

10. CLEANING AND CARE

10.1 General

Pull the power plug (18) from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
Clean the exterior with a lightly damp cloth.
Do not use petrol, alcohol or other abrasive cleansers to clean the exterior.

10.2 Handling CDs

Although the quality of the compact disc is not affected by a little dust or small
scratches, you should care for them.
Protect the compact disc from dust or scratches.
Always store the compact disc in the disc case when not in use.
To maintain the original sound quality, occasionally wipe off the compact disc with a soft
cloth, from the centre to the outer edge (not in a circular motion). Do not use petrol or
other solvents for cleaning.
Touch the compact disc on the edges only!
Possible cause
Power cable (18) is not
connected properly.
FM antenna (17) is not
unrolled.
Mono playback.
Inserted disc is dirty or
scratched.
Playback in intro or
programmed mode.
Volume is set too low.
Inserted CD is dirty or
scratched.
Audio files are not compatible.
Sound is muted.
Malfunction due to
electrostatic discharge.
Solution
Check if the power cable is properly
connected to an electrical outlet.
Unroll the FM antenna (17) for best reception.
Press ST/MONO (34) key to switch to stereo
mode.
Clean the disc with a soft cloth or insert
another CD.
Stop the programmed or intro mode by
pressing INTRO (40) or
Increase the volume level.
Clean the disc with a soft cloth or insert another
CD.
Restore sound by pressing MUTE (22) key.
Disconnect the device from the power supply.
Connect the power plug (18) again to a
electrical outlet.
