Incorrect mounting
The device can be damaged, destroyed, or its functionality impaired through improper
mounting.
● Before installing ensure there is no visible damage to the device.
● Make sure that process connectors are clean, and suitable gaskets and glands are used.
● Mount the device using suitable tools. Refer to the information in Technical data

Installation preconditions
Orientation of the SITRANS I300
SITRANS I300 can be installed vertically or horizontally.
Damage to the device
Electrical equipment standards classify SITRANS I300 as Open Equipment. You must install
SITRANS I300 in an enclosure, cabinet, or electric control room. You should limit entry to the
enclosure, cabinet, or electric control room to authorized personnel.
Installing the SITRANS I300
SITRANS I300 can be easily installed on a DIN rail or on a panel. To prevent interference, you
should allow clearance of at least 40 mm underneath and above.

Installation location
As long as it is installed in an adequate enclosure, SITRANS I300 can be operated in
hazardous areas (zone 2). It is allowed to lead the bus line (secondary side) of SITRANS I300
out of the non-hazardous area in zone 1 and zone 0.
