User's Manual
Tourniquet
Dear customer, thank you for choosing a KaWe product. Our products are known for their
high quality and longevity. This KaWe product fulfils EC Standards 93/42/EWG (standards
for medical products).
Please read these instructions thoroughly and carefully before at-
tempting to use this product and heed the care instructions.
User: This product has to be applied by authorized skilled medical staff only.
Purpose: The tourniquet is applied on the upper or lower limbs in order to adjust the venous
and arterial blood flow. Mostly, but not exclusively, the tourniquet serves to uphold a venous
blood congestion for a limited period of time. In emergency use the tourniquet may be used
to stem an acute bleeding.
Procedure: The tourniquet strap is placed around the limb at the desired site. The distal
snap - fit is attached to the opening of the closure / release unit. This is provided by an audible
and safe snap connection. Adjust the desired compression pressure by pulling the free op-
posite strap. Avoid any pinching and jamming of the skin within the compression strap. To
terminate the compression or congestion the release button is pressed, which instantly leads
to a disengagement of the strap with the closure / release unit.
Caution and exclusion of misuse: This device has to be exclusively applied in
accordance with the given operating guide. Any other use is not permitted and excludes any
liability of the manufacturer.
This tourniquet must not be in reach of medically non-qualified individuals, patients suffering
from impaired comprehension (e.g. dementia, intoxication) and children.
