Practically all breakdowns can be prevented by proper
handling and maintenance inspections, but in the event
of a breakdown, please take remedial action following
Symptom
Blades will not rotate.
Material leaking from drum ends.
Drum diffi cult to discharge (tilt).
Symptom
Electric motor will not start.
Electric motor continuously stops.
Electric motor RPM's too low.
Electric motor RPM's too high.

Troubleshooting (Mixer)
Possible Problem
Worn or defective V-belt?
Adjustment lever mis-aligned?
Material load too heavy, exceeding
mixer capability?
Object stuck inside mixing drum,
jamming paddle rotation?
Improper engine speed?
Worn or defective paddle shaft seals? Replace seals.
Defective or worn drum support
brackets?
Blades adjusted too tight.
Troubleshooting (Electric Motor)
Possible Cause
Is there power?
Is power cable plugged in?
Is ON/OFF switch placed in ON
position?
Defective electric motor ON/OFF
switch?
Defective motor windings?
Defective extension cord?
Reset button OK?
Low voltage?
High voltage?
Solution
Replace V-belt.
Check position of adjustment lever.
Adjust if necessary.
Reduce amount of material being
mixed.
Stop engine. Empty out drum
contents. Remove obstruction.
Check and adjust engine speed.
Apply grease to bracket or replace.
Adjust blades until they almost touch
side walls of drum.
Solution
Check power source. Check reset
button.
Plug in power cable.
Place ON/OFF switch in ON position.
Replace switch.
Repair windings or replace windings.
Replace extension cord.
Check power source.
Check input voltage.
Check input voltage.
