    Getting Started Getting Started This chapter provides the following basic installation instructions and information for obtaining the best performance with the CP860 IP conference phone. Topics include: Phone Installation  Setup Wizard  Phone Status  If you require additional information or assistance with your new phone, contact your system administrator.
  • Page 10 Note The IP phone should be used with Yealink original power adapter (5V/2A) only. Power over Ethernet With the included or a regular Ethernet cable, the CP860 IP conference phone can be powered from a PoE-compliant switch or hub.

    Getting Started To connect the PoE: Connect the Ethernet cable between the Internet port on the phone and an available port on the in-line power switch/hub. Note If in-line power switch/hub is provided, you don’t need to connect the phone to the power adapter.

    Getting Started To connect a PC or mobile device: Connect one end of the 3.5mm jack cable to the PC/mobile port on the phone, and connect the other end to the headset jack on the mobile device or the AUX/MIC jack on the PC. Setup Wizard When the IP phone is first powered on or the phone settings are reset to factory defaults, the setup wizard will appear on the LCD screen after startup.

    For more information on MAC authentication, refer to: www.metaswitch.com Yealink IP phones also support HTTP digest authentication as defined in RFC 2617 to deploy phones. If the administrator manages a lot of IP phones, he can choose this method. So that MAC address binding is unnecessary, the system administrator only needs to provide authentication user name and password to the users.

    Customizing Your Phone Example: The user registers a SIP account for the IP phone and then set the value of Timer T1, Timer T2 respectively (Timer T1: 0.5, Timer T2: 4). The SIP registration request message will be re-transmitted between the IP phone and SIP server. The re-transmiting and doubling of Timer T1 (0.5) will continue until the retransmitting time reaches the Timer T2 (4).

If the phone cannot obtain the time and date from the SNTP server, contact your system administrator for more information.     Customizing Your Phone Directory Directory provides easy access to frequently used lists. The lists may contain Local Directory, History, Remote Phone Book and LDAP. You can configure the display priority of these lists in the Directory. 1 is the highest priority, 6 is the lowest priority.

Enter the value in the Search Flash Time (Seconds) field. It configures how often to refresh the local cache of the remote phone book.

Programmable keys allow you to quickly access features such as Directory. The key type None indicates that this programmable key provides no functionality until configuration.

Example: "([1-9])([2-7])3" would match "923", "153", "773",etc. The “$” should be followed by the sequence number of a parenthesis. The “$” plus the sequence number means the whole character or characters placed in the parenthesis.

    11. Live Dialpad You can enable live dialpad on the CP860 IP conference phone, which enables the IP phone to automatically dial out a phone number without the pressing of the send key. You can also configure a delay, where the phone will dial out the phone number automatically after the designated period of time.

    Using Your Phone Basic Call Features The CP860 IP conference phone is designed to be easily used like a regular phone on a public switched telephone network (PSTN). You can place calls, answer calls, transfer a call to someone else, or conduct a conference call.

    YealinkCP860 Phones Configuring Guide Incoming calls will be rejected automatically and "n New Missed Call(s)" ("n" indicates the number of missed calls. e.g., 1 New Missed Call(s)) will appear on the LCD screen. Note When DND and busy forward are enabled, calls will be sent to the configured destination number.
  • Page 53 Using Your Phone Semi-Attended Transfer: Transfer a call when the target phone is ringing.  Attended Transfer: Transfer a call with prior consulting.  To perform a blind transfer: Press the Tran soft key during a call. Enter the number you want to transfer the call to. Press the Tran soft key to complete the transfer.

    You can create a conference with other four parties using the phone’s local conference. You can view and manage each participant in the conference call. The CP860 IP conference phone supports up to five parties (including yourself) in a conference call.

    11. Call Pickup You can use call pickup to answer someone else’s incoming call on your phone. The CP860 IP conference phone supports directed call pickup and group call pickup. Directed call pickup is used for picking up a call that is ringing at a target phone number. Group call pickup is used for picking up a call that is ringing at any phone number in a certain group.

    11. Incoming Intercom Calls The CP860 IP conference phone supports automatically to answer an incoming intercom call by default. The phone automatically plays a warning tone when it receives an incoming intercom call. In addition, you can enable the phone to mute the microphone when it automatically answers an incoming intercom call.

Enter the multicast IP port number (e.g., 10008) in the Port field.
  • Page 63 Using Your Phone Receiving Stream You can configure the phone to receive a Real Time Transport Protocol (RTP) stream from the pre-configured multicast address(es) without involving SIP signaling. You can specify up to 10 multicast addresses that the phone listens to on the network. How the phone handles incoming multicast paging calls depends on Paging Barge and Paging Priority Active parameters configured via CommPortal phone Configurator.

    If the phone is plugged into a power strip, try to plug it directly into a wall outlet instead.  If your CP860 IP conference phone is powered from PoE, ensure that you use a  PoE-compliant switch or hub.
