Cleanout plate removal/re-installation
Silicone cord must start/end at top center,
add a dap of silicone over joint.

Re-install cleanout plate
1. Install a new silicone cord gasket into the groove. See instructions
at right.
2. Re-install the cleanout plate gasket that was removed and
inspected earlier.
3. Position the cleanout plate.

cleanout plate mounting studs and tighten in the staggered patt ern
shown for the boiler model until the cleanout plate is uniformly
tightened.
Gradually tighten the cleanout plate nuts in the se-
quence shown in Figure  95, page  104 until torque
reaches 18 N-m/160 in-lbs/13 ft -lbs.
If the tightening is not done using this top-to-bott om,
center out method, the plate could buckle, allowing a
fl ue gas leakage.
Re-install venturi/blower/mixing tube assembly
1. Follow the procedure on page 91 to re-install the burner, piping
end combustion chamber access plate and the blower/venturi/
mixing tube assembly.
2. Reconnect wiring, including the ignitor ground wire connection
to the top ignitor mounting screw.
Restart and test the boiler
1. Restore gas supply and power to the boiler.
2. Start the boiler and verify operation following the procedures
given in this manual.

Using the cleaning tool

gasket has been damaged, or the silicone cord
gasket has been damaged or stretched, replace it
before placing the boiler back in operation.
Replace the red silicone cord with new from An-
nual Maintenance kit or cover plate replacement
kit.
Make sure any old silicone has been properly
removed.
Loosely hold gasket in hands, leave enough slack
that when inserting into both upper corners of
the machined groove so there is a slight sag in the
middle.
Carefully press the top portion of the gasket into
the groove
Loosely grab the bott om portion of the gasket, and
insert into the bott om corners of the machined
groove, again trying to leave a litt le slack in all of
the straight portions of the groove.
Carefully press the gasket into the sides and bot-
tom portions of the machined groove.
Failure to comply could result in severe personal
injury, death or substantial property damage.
