® OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C Safety Instructions / Warning - Read before Start-Up ! • The device may only be used for the intended purpose designed by for the manufacturer. • The operation manual should be conveniently kept available at all times for each user.
® OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C Performance Features of the ID ISC.ANT1400/760 Antennas The ID ISC.ANT1400/760 Type A antenna is the version with Reader and Power-Splitter. The ID ISC.ANT1400/760 Type C includes the Reader and Multiplexer. The Reader and Power-Splitter or Multiplexer are mounted inside the antenna base.
® OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C Installation and Wiring Dimensions of antenna The outside dimensions of the antenna are shown in Fig. 1 Fig. 1: Antenna outside dimensions All dimensions are in mm with general tolerance to ISO 2768 m (mean).
® OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C 3.2 Mounting preparation For assembly the antenna must be carefully unpacked and disassembled into its main components. This is done as described in the following steps: 1. Place the packed antenna on the floor with the top side facing up. Carefully open the box and remove the side cover plates.

® OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C 3.3 Installing the Antenna Base Notes: Before installing the antennas please read 4.1 Project Notes . The spacing of the antennas comprising a gate depends on the antenna configuration. If multiple antennas or gates are connected to different Readers, a minimum separation of 8 m must be kept between the antennas or gates.
Page 11
OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C The size and type of the screw anchors depends considerably on the strength of the base or floor. The anchors should be capable of withstanding a permissible load of at least 5 kN per anchor for all load directions (e.g.
® OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C 3.3.2 Installing the Antenna Base and Antenna Body The antenna foot is screwed on the floor. Use the adjusting screws (Fig. 7) to align the antenna foot vertically. Adjusting screws (hexagon socket width A/F5) Fig.
® OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C 3.3.3 Connecting the Components The antenna is for the most part pre-wired. Only the antenna cables for the Type B or BL antennas need to be routed to the main antenna (Type A or C). At 4.2.2.a typical configuration for Type A and B antennas is shows (4.3.2 for Type C and B antennas).
® OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C 3.4 Installing the Cover Plates Note: We recommend installing the cover plates only after a function test of the complete antenna configuration. Fig. 12 shows the cover plates as well as the frame side sections .
Page 15
® OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C Proceed according to the following steps to install the cover plates and side panels 1. Fit cover plates into antenna foot and upper frame section as shown in Fig. 13. Cover plates with the painted, non-transparent area go on the open side of the antenna body. This covers the antenna conductor and electronics.
Page 16
OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C 2. Join the sides of the side panels with the antenna body and slide down (Fig. 15). To do it, the side panels are placed at an angle (Fig. 14). First insert the mounting slot on to the mounting and slide down approx.
Page 17
OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C 3. Attach the side panels using the mounting screws. The screws are placed in a plastic bag in the antenna base. First fit the upper screws and then fit the lower screws. The locations of these fasteners are shown in Fig.
® OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C Typical Antenna Configuration (Gate Antenna with two Antennas) The standard configuration of a gate with three-dimensional tag orientation consists of an ID ISC.ANT1400/760 Type A or C antenna and an ID ISC.ANT1400/760 Type B or BL antenna.
Page 19
® OBID i-scan Installation ID ISC.ANT1400/760-A/B/C To achieve three-dimensional capture of the tag in the capture area drawn above, the following conditions must be met: The gate distance GD depends on the antenna configuration (see Table 1). The tags should be at least ISO card size (46 mm x 75 mm).
