Preface

The Alert Notification feature provides failure monitoring functions (which include
monitoring of your storage systems by using SNMP), enabling you to recognize and fix
failures in your storage system.
Please read this document carefully to understand how to use this product, and maintain
a copy for reference purposes.

Intended audience

This document is intended for system administrators, Hitachi Vantara representatives,
and authorized service providers who install, configure, and operate Hitachi Virtual
Storage Platform 5000 series storage systems.
Readers of this document should be familiar with the following:
Data processing and RAID storage systems and their basic functions.
