®
The IntelliChlor
SCG is designed to operate with water flow rates from 95 Litres per minute (Lpm) (25 gallons
per minute (gpm)) up to 397 Lpm (105 gpm). Do not exceed 397 Lpm (105 gpm) or pipe manufacturers
recommended flow rate, whichever is less. For flow rates over 303Lpm (80 gpm) you must use a bypass loop
(as shown below) for best chlorine production. Installations with flow rates over 303 Lpm (80 gpm) include
those that have in-floor cleaning systems or booster pumps. These systems MUST use a bypass loop with the
SCG with a flow control valve that assures that the flow through the SCG is maintained within its designed
operating water flow rates.

IntelliChlor Plumbing Diagram

Plumbing the IntelliChlor Salt Chlorine Generator (SCG):
Always install the SCG AFTER the filter and heater (see "System Diagram" on page 4). The
ICEG should be no closer than 90 cm (3 ft) away from the heater outlet.
If the SCG is installed on a pool/spa combination system, install (see diagram below) the SCG
BEFORE the pool/spa return valve to allow proper chlorination of both the pool and spa and also to
avoid creating gas traps in the pipes.
Note: For best flow
sensing, provide at
least 30-45cm (12"-
18") of straight pipe in
front of the cell inlet.
