ADVANCED DIAGNOSTICS
MONITORING NETWORK MESSAGES
When the 7920SE is in Normal mode, network messages are displayed on the
computer terminal amen. These messages are part of the normal Master
Station network communication, and should be observed when installing a
7920SE for the first time. While it is not necessary to interpret all the messages
that am c5splayad,the ALARM SENT and various forms of the Poll messages
ahoukfbechsckad. Typicat messages are as follows

This is the initialpower q transmission(same as Poll Timeout) massage which is
transmitted whenever a 7920SE is fifst turned on. It is used by the network to
arhMac@ a new subscriber. For other alarm messages, the actual alarm is
e~ _ HQh Spaed Format (see No. 665 Digital Receiver Messages
addkmal information).
Poll 02 16XXXX*
The 792(LSE has overheard a poll that was sent from Master Station 02 to a
a@amfbar that is being sqwvisad by Central Station 18. There will be many poll
masaa@a such as thii, since polling is the primary activity of the network.
Poll 02 16xmc Response OK*
The "Raqonea OtC inctudedin the poll message indicates that the 7920SE that
is connected to the tarminal has responded to a poll from a network Master
Station (n- 02 in thii example), and has indicated that it has no messages
waiting
to be sent. This is the normal response to a network poll when the
7920SE is in nonnat, standby operation.

the terminal is informing Master Station 02 that it has a message to be
. This is the timt step in the normal alarm massage transmission
~ whereby a 7920SE reporting an alarm conditionfirst waits to be polled
before aeru3ngthe alarm message. If, after a brief period of time (6-12 seconds),
the 7920SE is not potted,the 7920SE will begin to send asynchronous"Message
wait&@ measgea.
