9.2.2 ControllerService Call Messages
Controllerermrmessagesresultfmm failurein eitherhardwareor software.
Some controllererror messagesoccur during startup tests. The messages
meanthatthecontrollers malfunctioning, butis stillabletodisplaytheerror
massage.Certainconditionscan alsobedetectedduringcontrollerreset,on
insertionof a cartridge,andat othertimesafterthecompletionof power-up
initialization. A nerrorstopsthetestsequence,theunitgoesoffline, andthe
alarm sounds. 'I'hecontrollerwill attempt to recover, if possible. If the
problemis notfoundduringinitialization, b utrecursduringoperation,most
likelythe fault is in the hardware.
