    SPECIFICATIONS RUS-51FT Model: Functions and Characteristics Can Reach Boiling Temperatures Boiling water is available when required. This is convenient in many situations, such as making tea for the unexpected guest, boiling noodles, or steaming towels. Water Temperature Control Water temperature can be controlled at the Capacity Changeover switch or the Control (Water Temperature) Knob.

    Check that water is available at the heater before first ignition. (Turn the control to the “ cold” position and push to check water flow, then push the knob again to stop water flow, then return it to a hot water position. Fully open the gas valve on the unit.
  • Page 6 WARNING SHOWER STRAIGHT The plastic control adaptor helps to prevent spurting of boiling water, DO NOT remove it when using this heater for boiling water. Do not adjust the plastic outlet tube of the heater while the water is boiling. The tube is HOT. Return the temperature control to a lower setting after use to avoid the risk of burns.

    MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING Do not use harsh abrasives or solvents to clean the water heater. Use a soft, damp cloth and neutral detergent. Do not disassemble the safety devices or gas circuit at any time. Checks around the unit - Is there a smell of gas? - Is there a water leak in the unit or connecting parts?     INSTALLATION This water heater must be installed by an authorised person according to regulations of the local supply authority. Do not install in an area where strong chemicals such as chlorine are stored. Strong chemicals can cause damage to the heater exchanger causing the unsafe combustion prevention device to fail.

    FAULT FINDING Unit does not ignite when the control knob is pushed - Push the control knob, then try pushing it again. - There are times straight after installation, or first thing in the morning, that the unit will not ignite due to air in the gas pipes.
  • Page 12 THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT FAULTS The unit makes a noise temporarily after ignition. The unit ensures ignition a few seconds after the user has pushed the knob. Cannot ignite when the control knob is in the “ COLD” position. The unit is made not to ignite cold water setting.

    MAINTENANCE External Wipe the front cover with a soft cloth. If it is dirty, use a cloth with a medium strength deter- gent. Do not use thinner, petroleum, cleanser, or a scrubbing brush to clean the unit as it may rub off printing or labels, or cause scratching.
