Side rails

• The Marina is equipped with aluminium side rails that can be folded against the edge
of the support surface, so that transfers can be made.
• The side rail is fitted with rail protection, preventing the occupant from lifting the side
rail independently.
• Before the side rail can be folded down, the rail protection positioned at the head end
has to be unlocked.
• Unlock the protective device by pulling the protruding lip inwards using one hand and
lifting the middle of the side rail with the other hand.
• Turn the unlocked rail outwards, so that the side of the mattress will lie horizontally.
• When the side rails are folded down, the care-provider is able to support himself
against the middle of the
mattress enabling even better
care of the occupant.
• Turn the side rail upwards to
fold up the side rail. The rail
locks automatically.
• When closing the rail, the mat-
tress flap that has been folded
down will again stand upright.
• Make sure that the corner
flaps fall inwards, so that
these do not become
trapped in the rail's locks.
Transfer from a bed
• Lock the bed's wheels.
• Place the Marina next to the bed with the head end at the
side where the user's head is positioned.
• Lower the bed's side rail.
• Raise the Marina's support surface just above the mattress
of the bed.
• Fold down the side rail.
• Slide the Marina between the head and foot end, so that
this covers as much of the bed as possible.
• Lock the Marina's wheels.
• Go and stand at the opposite end of the bed.
• Place the EasySlide between the user and the Marina.
