    POWER SUPPLY • Turn the power switch OFF when the SD1200 is not in use. • The AC adapter should be unplugged from the AC outlet if the SD1200 is not to be used for an extended period of time.

    DRUM MODULE OPERATION FRONT MIXER PANEL Faders: The front panel faders control 3 banks of real-time adjustments to the current kit sound. These are global real time controls for making on- the-fly adjustments to the overall sound of the module. They do not change the stored programming of the current kit.

    BASIC OPERATIONS AND NAVIGATION The SD1200 works primarily in the Kit, Song and Utility modes. In Kit Mode, you select the drum kit you want to play, and edit the kits and sounds within it. SELECTING MODES To select a Mode press the KIT, SONG or UTILITY buttons on the left side of the module.

    MIX SCREEN VOLUME GRAPHIC DRUM VOLUMES Pressing Kit then pressing F1 (MIX) can access this screen. It shows an overview of the SD1200 kit with the current volume settings for each drum and cymbal.     ADVANCED OPERATIONS WHAT IS A DRUM? In the context of the SD1200, a ‘drum’ is made up of a number of sounds. For example, the ride cymbal has three sounds, one each for the bell, bow and edge areas of the cymbal. A tom has two sounds, one when you hit the head and another when you hit the rim.

    PLAYING AND RECORDING YOUR OWN DRUM SONGS There are two ways you can record and playback your playing on the SD1200: MIDI or Audio. The audio mode requires a USB flash drive. The MIDI recorder will record to the internal memory of the SD1200.

    The SD1200 transmits and receives on MIDI Channel 10. SAMPLE TRANSFERS The SD1200 can import up to 28Mb of 16Bit .wav files. To move .wavs into the SD1200, you will need to use the Simmons software program (available on Simmonsdrums.net) that will enable you to select the sample and send it to the internal memory of the SD1200.
