BASIC OPERATIONS AND NAVIGATION The SD1250 works primarily in the Kit, Song and Utility modes. In Kit Mode, you select the drum kit you want to play, and edit the kits and sounds within it. SELECTING MODES To select a Mode press the KIT, SONG or UTILITY buttons on the left side of the module.

ADVANCED OPERATIONS WHAT IS A DRUM? In the context of the SD1250, a ‘drum’ is made up of a number of sounds. For example, the ride cymbal has three sounds, one each for the bell, bow and edge areas of the cymbal. A tom has two sounds, one when you hit the head and another when you hit the rim.

PLAYING AND RECORDING YOUR OWN DRUM SONGS There are two ways you can record and playback your playing on the SD1250: MIDI or Audio. The audio mode requires a USB flash drive. The MIDI recorder will record to the internal memory of the SD1250.
SAMPLE TRANSFERS The SD1250 can import up to 28Mb of 16Bit .wav files. To move .wavs into the SD1250, you will need to use the Simmons software program (available on Simmonsdrums.net) that will enable you to select the sample and send it to the internal memory of the SD1250.
ADVANCED OPERATIONS SAMPLE TRANSFERS You will need the SD1250 WAV Transfer program to move audio files from your computer to the SD1250. You can download this software from Simmonsdrums.net. We strongly advise that you back up any User kits and sounds you want to keep before loading User samples.
