Replacing the Printhead
EasyCoder PX4i Bar Code Label Printer User's Guide (IPL Version)
Theprintheadissubjecttowearbothfromthedirectthermal
mediaortransferribbonandfromtherapidheatingandcooling
processduringprinting.Thus,theprintheadwillrequireperiodic
replacement.
Timebetweenprintheadreplacementsdependsontheprint
images,thetypeofdirectthermalmediaorribboninuse,the
amountofenergytotheprinthead,theprintspeed,theambient
temperature,andseveralotherfactors.
Whilereplacingtheprinthead,thepowermustbeoff.The
firmwarewillnotdetectthenewprintheadresistanceand
densityuntiltheprinterhasbeenrestarted.
Note:Checkthatthedensityofthenewprintheadmatchesthe
printheadyouarereplacing.Whileyoucanswitchbetween
densitiesatwill,theprintoutwillbeaffectedaccordingly.
Note:Priortoinstallingthe406dpiprintheadonthePX4i
printerthefirmwaremustbeupdatedtoIPLFirmwareversion
2.74.0orhigher.
