10.4 Detailed connection description

The VarioCAM
can be connected with the PC/notebook using the following connection possibilities.
Thereby, it must be noted that certain components are optional and not always supplied as accessories
depending on the configuration of the thermography system.
If the VarioCAM
(electricity supply via the FireWire interface), it must be ensured that the FireWire cards
recommended by Infratec are used. Otherwise Infratec makes no guarantee of functionality.
When using the FireWire interface of the VarioCAM
to the PC/notebook first and then connected to the VarioCAM

The 6-pole LEMO-plug (Fig. 116) can be connected to the 6-
pole LEMO-socket on the Thermography-camera (Fig. 117).
Please connect to the correct LEMO-socket!
Hint: Plug the LEMO-plug into the socket with red point facing
upwards. Don t use any mechanical force.
In order to be operated on a notebook (FireWire
connection without electricity supply), the camera needs to
be connected to power supply (accessory) (Fig. 118).
Hint: If the camera is operated on PC without power
supply, please make sure that the FireWire card
recommended by InfraTec is used. Otherwise InfraTec
doesn t assume any function-guarantee.

The power supply should be connected with a
LEMO-adapter (Fig. 119).
Please note the correct LEMO-plug!
The 14-pole LEMO-plug of the LEMO-adapter
(Fig. 119) should be connected with the 14-pole
LEMO-socket (Fig. 117) on the camera.
