Pour-Over / Manual Brew Coffee

Pour-Over is a manual brewing method that ensures the precise control of the
temperature of the water, the duration of the brew and allows thorough saturation
of the grounds. Many coffee enthusiasts consider Pour-Over an artisanal method
for brewing coffee.
Equipment Suggestions:
Grinder
Suggested water to coffee ratio – 16:1
Pour-Over Dripper:
1. Set the temperature of your Bonavita Kettle to 205 °F / 96 °C.
2. Add a paper filter to the dripper and rinse with hot water until the filter is
completely saturated.
3. Place the dripper on a drinking cup or carafe.
4. Add desired amount of coffee, we suggest a water to coffee ratio of 16:1
5. Add approximately 25% of the total water. We recommend starting in the center
and pouring in a circular pattern moving towards the edge of the dripper.
6. Wait 30-40 seconds. This pause enables the blooming process when gasses are
released from the grounds allowing them to absorb the water.
7. Slowly pour in the remaining amount of water in a circular pattern allowing the
finished coffee to flow through the dripper. Be mindful of your drinking cup or
carafe capacity to prevent spilling.
