Unpacking and installation guide
Warning: Read instructions before filling water!
1. Unpacking
Place unit on its back. Remove cardboard box. Fit the
mixing valve and adjustable feet (supplied). Do not tighten
the valve until the Cw and Hw pipes has been fitted. The
valve can be rotated 360°.
2. Chloridic water
All units are delivered with a factory fitted anode.
With anode fitted the warranty allows chloridic content in
the water up to 250 mg Cl/l.
3. Installing the unit
Place unit in room with gully. Make sure the water heater
is installed level and stable by adjusting the supplied feet.
Ensure there is at least 80 cm. clear space in front of the
electric centrals for service purposes. Fit the supplied
pressure/temperature gauge to the designated 1/2"
connection (see system suggestions on page 10-12).
4. Pipe connection - mixing valve
Cw/Hw: Rotate the mixing valve to the desired position.
Insert Cw and Hw feed pipes (ø15 mm) into the pressure
cone connections and tighten nuts (50 Nm). Tighten the
mixing valve nut (32 mm) Adjusting the mixing valve, see
page 13. For further pipe connections see system
suggestions on page 10-12. Connection dimensions are
found in Technical data table on page 13.
5. Safety valves
EPC 300, EPCI 360: SV2 9 bar safety valve factory fitted
to the upper vessel, SV 3 bar safety valve is supplied and
must be fitted to the lower vessel.
EPTC 400, EPTRC 400: T&P (temperature & pressure)
release valve factory fitted to upper vessel, SV 3 bar
safety valve is supplied, must be fitted to the lower vessel.
Overflow pipe from safety valves must be uninterruptable
and frost free to gully, installed at a declining angle. The
safety valve fitted to the lower vessel can be removed and
fitted in another position in the circuit if the connection is needed for pipe fitting. The safety valve must then be fitted in an
uninterruptable connection with the lower vessel.
6. Electrical wiring - el. centrals
All internal wiring is factory fitted. An authorized electrician is required to fit the power supplies to the electric centrals as
shown on page 11. When connecting both lower electric centrals (EPCI & EPTC) an external junction box must be used.
Important: All electrical work must be performed by an approved installer.
All power supply cables must be fitted with a suitable strain relief bushing.
IMPORTANT: Fill with water before power on!
7. OSO FIX PV12 or MX18 control centres for simplified fitting (optional)
To be fitted on the wall, on either side of the EPC. Contains circulation pump, shunt valve (MX), micro bubble air separator
and a 12/18 l. expansion vessel, all pre assembled in an insulated cabinet. Offers a quick, simple and tidy installation.
PV/MX is sold separately.
8. Re-examination - annual inspection
When the system is fitted, check all connections for leaks. Repeat after approx. 1 week in service, then annually.
Safety valves must be tested annually by opening the valves to ensure water flows freely. Open valve by turning knob clock-
wise. Keep turning clockwise to shut valve. Important: Safety valves must never be plugged or blocked!
Electric centrals
Annual inspection: Disconnect all power supplies before removing el. central cover. Wiring must be inspected and
all screws tightened. Make sure internal wires are not damaged. If any electrical component is damaged or broken it
must be replaced with original spare parts of the same specification by an authorized electrician. Refit el. central cover
before turning power back on. Wiring diagrams see page 14.
