MOUNTING THE CORN HEADER Mounting the Corn header Preparation of the feeding chute Set the tension and the clearance to the feeding chute of the conveyor chain according to the specifications of the harvester manufacturer. (See the harvester operating manual) Before the initial mounting of the header, check the lowering safeguard (A) of the feeding chute.
  • Page 22 MOUNTING THE CORN HEADER Locking the corn header at the feeding chute Principally secure against unintentional lowering ! For this purpose, use the locking device at the hy- draulic cylinders. Perform the fastening of the header (R) according to the installa- tion as predefined by the thresher.

INLET CHAINS Inlet Chains Inlet chains Chain tensioning device The inlet chains are tensioned automatically and maintenance- free via consistent spring tension. When do the inlet chains require to be exchanged? If the maximum tensioning point of the tensioning device is reached, the chain must be replaced.
  • Page 28: Changing The Drive Speed

DRIVE SYSTEM & CONNECTING COUPLING Changing the Drive Speed Nominal speed is not reached If the nominal speed of the picker of approx. n = 600 Rev/min is not reached, there is the option to correct the speed by exchang- ing the sprocket within the gears (K).
  • Page 29: Trial Run

TRIAL RUN Trial Run Reduction of the starting torque In order to reduce the startup forces, only let the corn header run with reduced motor speed in idling position at startup. This significantly increases the life of the drive couplings and belts. It must be ensured that the horizontal choppers do not come in contact with foreign matter.
