7. Screw the new filter on by hand until its gasket
lightly contacts the oil filter adapter. Tighten the
filter an additional 3/4 to one full turn.
8. Refill the engine with the proper recommended oil.

9. Install front panel
10. Perform "To turn the generator set back ON" in
Generator Set Enable/Disable
11. Press the MANUAL mode button on the control
panel to start the engine, run for one minute, and
check for leaks.
12. Press the OFF mode button on the control panel to
stop the engine. Wait five minutes.
13. Recheck the oil level. Add oil as needed. DO NOT
OVERFILL.
14. Insert oil dipstick and/or attach fill cap.
15. Press the AUTO mode button on the control panel
to return the unit to AUTO mode.
16. Close and lock the lid.
17. Dispose of the used oil and filter per local
regulations and guidelines.

Servicing the Air Cleaner

Proceed as follows to service the air cleaner:
1. Perform "To turn the generator set OFF" in
Generator Set Enable/Disable Procedure
2. See

4-4. Remove the cover clips (A) and air
cleaner cover (B).

3. Remove the old air filter element (C) and discard.
4. Thoroughly clean the air cleaner enclosure of any
dust or debris.
5. Install a new air filter element.
6. Install the air cleaner cover and fasten the cover clips.
7. Verify the air inlet duct (D) is properly connected to
the air cleaner cover.
8. Perform "To turn the generator set back ON" in
Generator Set Enable/Disable

Spark Plugs

Proceed as follows to check the spark plug(s) gap and
replace the spark plug(s) as necessary:

Procedure.
1. Perform "To turn the generator set OFF" in
Generator Set Enable/Disable Procedure
2. Remove the front panel.
3. Clean the area around the base of the spark
plug(s) to keep dirt and debris out of the engine.
4. Remove the spark plug(s) using a 13/16 in. socket
wrench (8 kVA units) or a 5/8 in. socket wrench
(10-13 kVA) and check the condition. Install a new
plug(s) if the old plug(s) is worn or if reuse is
questionable.
5. Clean the plug(s) by scraping or washing with a
wire brush and commercial solvent. Do not blast
the plug(s) to clean.

4-5. Check the spark plug gap using a
wire feeler gauge. Replace the spark plug if the
gap is out of specification. See Specifications.

7. Install the spark plug(s), and torque to 25 Nm (18.4
ft-lb).
8. Install front panel.
9. Perform "To turn the generator set back ON" in
Generator Set Enable/Disable
