GPS Receiver – Receiver Power System
Supplying power to the GPS receiver can be accomplished in two ways. The Z-
Xtreme receiver has a battery integrated into the receiver for power. This connection
does not require a cable. The battery is simply inserted into the receiver. If the GPS
system is to function unattended for a period of time not supported by the internal bat-
tery, an external battery can be used (Figure 3.5).
External power is applied to the Z-Xtreme by either connecting the battery cable con-
nected to the optional external power kit, or the cable for a user-supplied power
