  • Page 2 Folding The Planter: Prior to folding the planter, move to a level surface that pro- vides clearance needed to fold the planter. 1) Put the tractor in Park and install the flex lock pin (1) (installed in the inner wing pivot assembly). 2) Remove the wing lock pin (2) if installed.
  • Page 3 Initial Planter Height: The planter is designed to operate with the main tool bar 26 inches above the planting surface. 1) Completely lower the 3-point hitch along with the lift-assist cylinders. If necessary, first raise the lift-assist cylinders off of the transport locks and remove them.
  • Page 4 Ground Drive Adjustments: When planting, if the monitor indicates under seeding, check the ground drive to see if it is slipping and adjust as necessary. 1) Raise the planter so that the gauge wheels are just off the ground. 2) Loose the top nut (12) just above the yoke block. 3) Using an open-ended or adjustable wrench at the integral hex nut (13), rotate the link to adjust the gauge wheel tension.
  • Page 5 Unit-Mounted Coulter Adjustment: The ideal operating depth for unit-mounted coulters is 1/4 inch above the opener depth. Although the coulters may have origi- nally been set to this depth, coulter blades wear with time, and may need to be adjusted. 1) Determine which hole will position the coulter closet to 1/4 inch above the opener depth.
  • Page 6 Upper Drive Sprocket Adjustment: 1) If the sprocket selection needs to be changed, loosen the bolt on the forward idler (21) and slide the idler to the bot- tom of its track. 2) Remove the split plastic spacer (22). 3) Move the spacer to the other side of the sprocket pair, sliding the sprocket pair (23) left or right to make room.
