Overview
Function
The SafeCard is a short ISA module. It is used as a monitoring module in
SIMATIC PCs. It monitors the ambient conditions and the operating mode of
the PC, it indicates operating modes and fail-state characteristics and controls
the fans.
SafeCards fulfill the following individual functions:
SafeCard messages can be transferred to applications by means of the
SafeCard driver. For installing the SafeCard driver under various operating
systems see the ReadMe.TXT file in directory C:\SAFECARD.

– Monitor temperature and indicate excess or insufficient temperature
– Control fans
– Watchdog
– Serve as relay interface
– Battery-back the optional RAM 64kB
