SEATS AND RESTRAINTS
IMPORTANT
• Always ensure the seat belt will not become trapped
in the door aperture when closing the door, damage
will occur.
• Pulling the seat belt out too quickly may cause it
to lock. In this case, allow the seat belt to retract
slightly and then pull it across your body slowly.
• If it is difficult to pull the seat belt out, it may be due
to twisted webbing. If this is the case, fully extract
the seat belt, remove the twist, allow the seat belt
to retract slowly.
• When using the rear seat belts please ensure they
are fully retracted into the correct position to
avoid jamming in the rear seat catches. It is a legal
requirement to wear seat belts. Even if the seat belt
is twisted it must be worn. Where possible avoid
the twisted section contacting the body and seek
advice from an MG Authorised Repairer as soon as
possible.

Correct Routing of the Seat Belts
Ensure the seat belt is correctly positioned on
the body, never cross the neck or abdomen,
never pass the seat belt behind the back or
under the arms.
When wearing seat belts, the lap belt section should be
positioned as low as possible across your hips, never across
the abdomen. In the event of a collision, the lap belt can
apply a force on the hips and reduce the possibility of you
