6.5 REPLACING CUTTING KNIFE

If the strap is only partly cut off or not at all,
the cutting knife must be replaced.
Removal
– Remove the screw (Fig. 12/1) and the lever (12/2).
– Using pliers, remove the woodruff key (12/3) from
the shaft.
– Disassemble the three screws (12/4) securing and
remove cover.
– Take the shaft (12/5) and the punch assembly out
of the housing. Be careful with the strap lifter (12/7)
so they do not get lost.
– Replace the knife (12/8).
– Clean and put new grease at the holes for the
strap lifter (12/7) and at the upper punch (12/6).
Installation
– Install the parts in reverse order.
– Set cut-off depth after assembly (see chapter 6.2).

6.6 REPLACING UPPER AND LOWER PUNCH

If the seal is no longer properly notched
(seal does not grip), the upper and lower
punch must be checked and replaced if necessary.
Removal Lower Punch
– Remove the parts as discribed above (see chapter
6.5).
– Remove two cylinder screws (Fig. 13/1) and remove
and replace the lower punch (13/2).
Removal Upper Punch
– Remove the shaft (13/4) and the pressure roller
(13/5).
– Remove and replace upper punch (13/3).
– Clean parts and re-grease shaft and the upper
punch.
Installation
– Install the parts in reverse order.
Tighten the screws (13/1) with a torque
of 2.1 Nm.
