TYPE OF PROBLEM
The burner goes to lock-out
with the flame on (Red lamp on)
The trouble is in the flame
control device
The burner goes to lock-out
spraying fuel but the flame
does not ignite (Red lamp on).
The trouble is in the ignition
device, providing the fuel is in
a good condition (not polluted)
with water or other impurities)
and sufficiently atomized.
The burner goes into lock-out
spraying fuel but the flame
does not ignite. (red light on).
The burner goes into lock-out
without spraying fuel (Red
lamp on).
Noisy burner pump
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Photoresistance severed or fouled with smoke
Insufficient draught
Photocell circuit interrupted
Fouled disc or opening
Ignition circuit severed.
The ignition transformer leads have dried out.
The ignition transformer cables are not well
connected.
Ignition transformer interrupted.
The electrode faces are not at the right distance.
The electrodes discharge to ground because they
are fouled or because the insulation is cracked.
Check also under the fastening terminals of the
insulating elements.
Pump pressure is not normal
Water in the fuel
Excess combustion air
Air passage between disk and blast tube
Nozzle worn out or fouled
Missing phase
Inefficient electric motor
Gas oil not reaching the pump
No gas-oil in the tank
Gate valve on the intake pipe is closed
Clogged nozzle
Motor (three-phase) rotates in opposite direction
to that indicated by the arrow
Foot valve leaks or is jammed
Faulty pump
Inefficient solenoid valve
Voltage too low
Pipe diameter too small
Air infiltration in the pipes
Dirty coarse filter
Excessive distance between the tank and the
burner or many accidental leakages (curves,
elbows, choking, etc.)
Deteriorated flexible pipes

Clean or replace
Check all the smoke ducts in the boiler and
in the chimney
Replace the equipment
Clean
Check the entire circuit
Replace them
Tighten them
Replace it
Return to the correct position
Clean or replace it as necessary
Remove it
Remove it from the tank with a suitable pump
(never use the burner pump for this job)
Reduce combustion air
Correct the position of the combustion head

Check the suction pipe
