Warnings
Keep hands and all other objects clear of simulator while discharging the defibrillator.
Shock hazard exists. Be sure simulator cable is attached securely to the ZOLL
there are no nicks, cracks, or cuts in the cable and that the simulator housing is intact.
Do not discharge into the ZOLL AED PLUS simulator more than three times in one minute. Do not
discharge more than 360J into simulator at any time. ZOLL AED PLUS automatically limits
discharges to 5J when discharged into the simulator.
Do not immerse or set the ZOLL AED PLUS simulator in liquid. Using the device near or within puddles
of liquid may present a shock hazard to the operator, patient, and nearby personnel.
Note: Refer to the appropriate Operator's Guide for proper defibrillator operation.
Product Description
The ZOLL AED PLUS Simulator is a 9V battery operated cardiac rhythm and CPR simulator for use
with ZOLL AED PLUS devices.
The ZOLL AED PLUS Simulator attaches to the ZOLL AED PLUS device through a cable on the
simulator. The ZOLL AED PLUS Simulator provides ECG and CPR signals to the defibrillator
unit via the attached cable.

Getting Started
To use the ZOLL AED PLUS Simulator:
1. Install the 9 Volt alkaline battery.
2. Connect to the ZOLL AED PLUS device.
3. Press ON OFF key to power-on simulator. (If simulator powered-on after inserting the battery,
press ON OFF key to power-off simulator, then press again to power-on.)

The convert feature allows you to convert automatically from one rhythm (running rhythm) to another
rhythm (waiting rhythm) when a discharge is delivered from the AED PLUS device.
To perform convert operation:
1. Press convert key. Indicator of running rhythm pulses brighter.
2. Press key of rhythm to be simulated immediately after defib discharge.
Indicator of this (waiting) rhythm blinks on and off.
3. Discharge defibrillator. The waiting rhythm becomes the running rhythm.
To cancel convert operation before it's completed, either press convert key again or press key of
running rhythm. If convert operation is started, but a discharge is not sensed within two minutes, the
convert operation cancels automatically.
CPR
Toggles CPR signal on/off.
AUTO
Provides an automated test sequence of one shockable rhythm, CPR, and one non-shockable rhythm
when attached to the ZOLL AED PLUS and user follows voice prompts from defibrillator.
Battery Saver Feature
The simulator powers-off automatically about 30 minutes after the last key press, or 30 minutes after
defibrillator energy was last detected. This is normal operation.
To allow simulator to remain powered-on after 30 minutes, follow these instructions:
1. Power-off simulator.
2. Press and hold down convert key, then press and release ON OFF key.
The simulator powers-on.
3. Observe NSR indicator. When indicator blinks on and off, release convert key.
NSR indicator continues to blink for about one second.
The battery saver feature is now disabled. When you power-off the simulator, it will return to normal
battery saver operation.
